The police training school in Kumasi has passed out 545 officers to support the implementation of the government's 24-Hour Economy policy.
In line with its proactive measures, the police administration has established the 24- Hour Economy Security Secretariat at the Police Headquarters to oversee the security coordination of the policy implementation.
Addressing the parade in Kumasi Police Depot, the Director-General of Services at Ghana Police Service, COP Dr. Ernest Kwabena Owusu emphasized the readiness of the police to support the policy implementation.
"For such monumental policy to be implemented successfully, the police has a cardinal role to play to provide the needed security for the citizenry and the workers as well," he said.

He emphasised the role of the police in promoting peace, security, and social cohesion necessary for national development.
COP Nana Owusu urged the officers not molest people but to work with integrity and within the law without being partial.

"I urge you all on the parade to exhibit a high level of competence that complements the confidence the citizens' repose in you," he said. "In order to live up public trust and expectations, you must enforce the law fairly with utmost respect for citizens and their human rights."

The recruits were taken through subjects like Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Investigation, Law of Evidence, Acts and Decrees, Service Instructions, and Community Policing. Others are Information Communication Technology (ICT), Riot Management, Criminology, Social Psychology, Human Rights, English Language and French.

The 545 recruits were made up 298 females and 247 males.
