Ace sports journalist and commentator Kwabena Yeboah has expressed disappointment over the erratic changes at the Youth and Sports Ministry.
Two years into President John Mills’ administration four Sports Ministers have been appointed with some sacked or reassigned under controversial circumstances.
Member of Parliament for Anlo, Kofi Humado is the latest appointee to a ministry said to be one of the most difficult portfolios and perhaps the only ministry to have been tagged as having ‘mafias’ running the show.
Kwabena Yeboah told Joy News’ Araba Koomson the government’s consistency in replacing the sports ministers could affect the vision of the ministry.
He said with the rampant changes the appointed ministers have very little time to settle, plan and execute policies that would be in the interest of the ministry and the country at large.
He made reference to former Youth and Sports Minister, E.T. Mensah who is touted as being the longest serving Sports minister saying, that ex-president Rawlings kept faith in him despite pressure to have him removed. That he said brought a lot of consistency in the Ministry.
He was however full of praise for the New Minister designate, applauding him for being meticulous in his utterances shortly after he was appointed Tuesday.
He was hopeful the minister could perform well in the position if allowed a lot of time to settle, plan and implement policies in the ministry.
