Parliament has approved Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, along with three other ministers-nominees.
The others are Tiah Ibrahim, North East Regional Minister-designate, Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, and Akamugri Atanga Donatus, Upper East Regional Minister-designate.
However, Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah's approval came despite initial opposition from Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
He noted that there was a directive from the NPP regarding concerns over the ministerial nominee's conduct, which must be addressed.
He emphasised that until this matter is resolved, the Minority’s objections would remain.

The opposition stemmed from Armah-Kofi Buah’s refusal to retract or apologise for comments he made about former President Akufo-Addo’s final State of the Nation Address on 3rd January 2025.
During his vetting on Monday, Armah-Kofi Buah acknowledged that his remarks, which were widely seen as harsh or inappropriate, were not intended to offend the former President but rather reflected the prevailing circumstances at the time.
However, he declined to offer a retraction or apology.
