A security analyst has advised the police to widen their scope of investigation as they seek killers of an undercover journalist with Tiger PI.

Adam Bonaa said limiting their investigations to Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, who is said to have incited his workers against Ahmed Hussein-Suale is dangerous.

“There might be some killers out there and so limiting it to him means we might have some killers on the lose. Let’s be open-minded and know that anybody at all could have done this probably not connected to the MP,” he told Emefa Apawu on Newsnight, Thursday.

Ahmed Husein-Suale, who is a teammate of the award-winning investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, was shot dead at Madina in Accra Wednesday night.

The late Ahmed Hussein-Suale

Some of the relatives who spoke to Joy News say the late Ahmed received a call Wednesday night – while he was with some community folk – that his ward was not feeling well.

“…shortly after leaving our company to take the boy to the hospital, we heard he was shot dead by some men rode away on a motorbike,” of the residents said.

Describing the dastardly act, the CEO of Security Warehouse Limited said, “the killing with military precision, where the killer needed to be sure the victim was executed perfectly on the scene...” is worrying.

“Let us be circumspect with the way we handle this or we skew it and then end up with nothing,” he advised.

Mr Bonaa said it is time workers of Tiger PI take their security serious because of the sensitive nature of the work they do.

“I have read their statement in defiance and I hope whiles writing that they are not afraid they are going to take their security seriously. When Mr Agyapong showed the young man's face on TV, Tiger PI should have requested for assistance,” he said.

According to him, the deceased should have relocated from the Madina area for his own safety.

He advised journalists especially those who undertake investigative work to be more cautious because their lives are more important than any story.

“When you are targeted, it is always needful that to move out of the location, sought proper advice and be more careful and be on guard,” he said.

He believes the currency of such killings calls for the president to address it in his next State of the Nation Address so that citizens are assured of their safety and security.

Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP has rejected accusations he is a suspect in the killing of undercover investigator months after he called for the deceased’s beating.

“They want to distract the police so that they will focus on me so the very people who committed the murder will run away,” Kennedy Agyapong said in an interview on Asempa FM, Thursday.

Serving his own suspicions, Kennedy Agyapong has called for the arrest of Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

“He knows something about the death,” he said on political news analysis show Ekosii Sen.

The legislator breathing fire and brimstone as well as hurling insults claimed, Ahmed before his killing had fallen out with his boss, Anas.

He claimed he has text messages pointing to the fall-out and threats on the deceased’s life.
