Musician Mr Drew, has revealed that his biggest challenge as an artiste, is promoting his music to ensure no piracy and more streaming.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Mr Drew explained that like many artistes, he is doing music as a full-time job with no other source of income.
Hence, if people choose to access his music through routes that are unapproved, he does not benefit from his work (intellectual property), which amounts to a waste of his time and life,” he told Andy Dosty on Monday.
However, "it has been challenging convincing people to stream music on digital platforms and desist from downloading them for free", the ‘Mood’ hitmaker said.
“The piracy in Ghana is crazy, it is crazy. This is my work so at the end of the day if am supposed to do all these hits and then I don’t get anything from it, then I have just wasted my life and my time,” the Highly Spiritual Music artiste lamented.
Mr Drew believes that many artistes in Ghana are facing similar issues however, they are keeping it to themselves.
He said that the war against piracy cannot be fought by one musician, but by all.
