A foreign national, believed to be of Lebanese origin died on the morning of Monday May 30, after allegedly jumping from the seventh floor of the Wangara Hotel at Osu.
It is not clear whether the gentleman committed suicide or there was foul play.
An eyewitness who spoke to Citi News described the incident as horrifying.
“My house is just opposite the building and this morning, a white man jumped from the seventh floor and he died. I think he’s one of the visitors there around the Regal Chinese Restaurant at Osu. All I heard was a loud noise from outside and when I came out that was what I saw," he narrated.
The Greater Accra Regional Police PRO, ASP Cyprian Zenge, confirmed the incident to Citi News and said investigations have already begun into the matter.
“We rushed to the scene when we were informed and saw the lifeless body of the man. The body has been sent to the Police mortuary for preservation. We have already started investigations and we’ll find out whether the man jumped by himself or otherwise."
"Definitely those who matter would be invited to give statements to the police," he added.
