The case between Martha Ankomah and Lilwin has been adjourned to May 14, 2025, for Lil Win to sign the terms of agreement with the actress.
A Starr FM report has it that the High Court in Accra on April 14, 2025, cautioned Lilwin over the delay in signing the settlement terms regarding the defamation case filed by actress Martha Ankomah against actor Kwadwo Nkansah (Lil Win).
The court has shown concern about the absence of Lil Win and his lawyers, even though both parties agreed to finalise their terms of settlement by April 1, 2025.
Martha Ankomah sued Lilwin for GHc5 million for making defamatory comments about her in public.
The court adjourned the case to make way for the settlement of their terms after Lilwin had asked for an out-of-court settlement.
On April 14, 2025, Martha’s lawyer, Nii Appiatu Plange, informed the court that they had submitted all agreed proposals for Lil Win to sign, but had not heard back from his team.
“I sent the agreed terms to defendant’s lawyer for defendant to sign in the middle of March but as I speak, I have not heard anything from Counsel,” he said.
According to Lilwin’s representative, Jalila Sumaila, the delay in the settlement was as a result of the counsel Margeret Adjei-Twum’s illness. She said the documents had yet been sent to the defendant to sign. She subsequently requested the case be adjourned.
“My instructions are that the terms have been given to defendant to sign and substantive Counsel is not well hence praying for a date,” Sumaila told the court.
Martha's counsel Nii Appiatu Plange said they "will oblige them a last adjournment and if they fail to sign then we proceed with the matter.
