The GoldCap Awards has announced Maud Avevor, the only Ghanaian, as a recipient of the prestigious 2024 Leadership Award in Innovation and Operations on December 13, 2024.
She joins an outstanding list of just 16 global winners selected this year for their role in driving transformative change through operational excellence and forward-thinking solutions.
The accolade places Ms. Avevor among a distinguished group of international leaders recognized for measurable impact. Her selection by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) based GoldCap highlights a career defined by the ability to merge analytical rigor with human-centered consulting, delivering results across both public and private sectors.
Ms. Avevor’s portfolio reflects a breadth of influence that spans the African continent and beyond. She notably guided a 30-year-old Ghanaian engineering firm through a critical generational transition, establishing a framework for sustainable growth.
Her strategic intervention also helped a cosmetic start-up secure financial stability, positioning it for loan acquisition and long-term viability.
Her work gained significant traction during the COVID-19 era, where she designed a grant distribution and accountability system that evolved into one of West Africa’s most data-driven public-private support models.
Demonstrating a commitment to technological innovation, she is developing an AI-powered financial management platform for MSMEs aimed at combating fraud and improving compliance. This tool will first be tested in Africa, and then piloted in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
Beyond her direct professional engagements, Ms. Avevor is building infrastructure for the next generation of leaders. She is currently developing a fellowship program designed to prepare first-generation African strategists for a landscape increasingly dominated by AI and digital finance.
Her published works consistently advocate for digital transformation as a core strategy for SME growth across the continent.
In the citation sent, the GoldCap Awards, represented by Founder Muhammad Husain, described Ms. Avevor as a “force-multiplying leader” who translates deep analytical insight into tangible operational improvements while actively cultivating capabilities in others.
As one of 16 honorees globally, Ms. Avevor’s recognition underscores a commitment to leadership rooted in precision, resilience, and the conviction that progress requires co-creation rather than conventional consultation.
