Monica Akoeley Amegashie-Viglo is a distinguished Ghanaian fashion designer, entrepreneur, and advocate for vocational training, with over three decades of experience in garment design, dressmaking, and the development of technical skills for women and young people.

She is the Managing Director of the Garment Technology Centre, based in Ho in the Volta Region. The Centre specialises in women's fashion design and modelling in Ghana, particularly in the Volta Region.

A certified fashion professional and NVTI-licensed trainer, Monica holds multiple national certifications in dressmaking, pattern drafting, and garment technology. She is also a trained Christian marriage counsellor. Her career includes leadership roles in renowned fashion establishments such as OKAY Fashion Home, Stadium View Fashion Home, and Standup Fashion Centre.

Monica is a registered facilitator with the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) and an active member of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI). She is widely recognised for her deep commitment to capacity-building through mentorship, skills training, and entrepreneurship development, particularly among young women.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Monica has played dynamic roles in civic and organisational leadership. She has served as Regional Vice Chairperson of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) and previously held positions as Municipal Chairperson, Regional Treasurer, and Vice Chairperson.

A devout Christian, she also serves as a Presbyter and executive member of the Global Evangelical Church, Ho, where she continues her ministry as a marriage counsellor and church leader.

Her influence extends beyond Ghana’s borders. She represented the country at an international conference on small-scale entrepreneurship held in Parakou, Republic of Benin, alongside participants from five West African nations.

Monica Akoeley Amegashie-Viglo is a visionary leader, mentor, and change agent whose work continues to empower artisans, promote vocational excellence, and inspire community development through fashion and enterprise.

In addition, she has built an impressive social media following of more than 200,000 fashion designers, vocational trainees, and entrepreneurship enthusiasts from across Africa. Over the years, she has trained more than 1,700 young people in the costume-making sector through her training institute and the seminars she has facilitated.
