He said Allah wished that mankind would always live in harmony and doing away with divisions and disharmony in any shape or form. Representatives from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the function, asked Ghanaians to forge national unity and peace and see themselves as one people with a common destiny.
The Deputy Regional Minister, Babal Jamal who led the NDC, unveiled a fund set up to advance the education of Muslims youth at Akwatia.
Mr Jamal asked Muslims and people from the Zongo communities who had attained positions of influence to facilitate the development of their localities. He observed that Muslims formed a large proportion of the population and should therefore be given what they deserve.
Mr Abubakar Sulemana, National Co-ordinator of the Nasara Club of the NPP, called for respect, patience and reconciliation among Zongo communities to end the culture of suspicion. He said political differences should not divide Ghanaians.
