In a manner reminiscent of the serial killings of year 2000, the people of Suhum in the Eastern Region have been plunged into perpetual fear, following the killing of yet another man in the already confounded town.
After the news of what could be aptly called the serial killings of three persons at Suhum on Friday, another mystery murder occurred at 1.00 am on Sunday in an area around the town’s elite school; Suhum Technical/Secondary School. The lifeless body of the man, Kwabena Sarfo, 35, was noticed at dawn in a drain with a bruised eyelash.
Though a few people immediately wanted to dismiss it as the demise of a drunkard who crushed his head into a concrete bridge and died, the Heritage newspaper says abundant evidence it gathered from informants strongly suggested that there was more to it than mere accident.
Although people in the neighborhood say they saw a big bundle of toilet paper lying beside the body, the police was long in coming when called, so dogs made a feast of the probable exhibit before anybody could say jack. However witnesses strongly believe that blood had been sucked from the latest victim.
One thing that suggested the man might have been strangled was that both of his legs were in a half pair of his trousers, with half of the body lying in a gutter under a bridge.
The mother of Sarfo, Mary Aboagye said her son went for a funeral on Saturday and never returned. Other informants added that they heard a loud screaming around 1.00 am Sunday but they could not go out to help because fear had gripped them.
The Suhum Police Division has stepped up with its search to unravel the anonymous killings that have rocked one of the busiest towns of the Eastern Region in recent times.
To date, four people have been dastardly murdered whilst two others have been brutally attacked the yet-to be0 apprehended assailants sending shivers down the spine of the Suhum town.
