The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has honoured party executives, campaigners, and grassroots supporters who secured the party's historic parliamentary victory in Dome-Kwabenya Constituency during the 2024 General Elections.

The Recognition and Awards Ceremony, held at Kwabenya Senior High School, brought together top party leaders, MPs, constituency executives, traditional authorities, and stakeholders to celebrate a "turning point" in the constituency's political history.

The Ga-East MCE, Mr. Edmund Agboh, credited the NDC's success to renewed hope under President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

"After years of economic suffocation and leadership failure, despair has given way to dynamic hope," he said, citing reduced inflation and prudent management of national resources.

Delivering her speech, Mrs. Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, described the victory as a result of two decades of persistence and sacrifice.

"For twenty years, our constituency yearned for leadership that truly understood the struggles of the people," she said, thanking campaigners, polling agents, and supporters for their tireless efforts.

Presenting the Keynote address, the NDC, National Chairman, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, warned against complacency and internal divisions.

"Winning an election is only one phase of the struggle," he said.

"The most difficult phase is governing in a way that convinces Ghanaians that their votes did not go to waste," he added.

He emphasized the party's commitment to justice and fairness, condemning political vigilantism and manipulation.

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah was presented with a Platinum Award for his strategic leadership and contribution to the NDC's success.

The event was attended by Dr. Hannah Bisiw, NDC National Women's Organizer, and several party executives and MPs.

Party leaders urged supporters to remain united and committed to governance that delivers results.

"Let us close our ranks and work harder for the government, the MP, and the assembly," Mr. Agboh said.

"Together, we can achieve even more."
