The Volta Regional Human Resource Manager of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has been elected as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary hopeful for Ho Central.
He defeated six others, giving the closest contender, Dr Robert Doh, a 42 votes gap in Saturday‘s primary.
In an interview with the media after his declaration, Mr Kpotosu said the delegates elected him because they needed a candidate who is experienced and can deliver the party’s objectives and “bring change”.
“The delegates of Ho Central have spoken, they need somebody who will do the work”, he stressed.
He, therefore, promised to increase the electoral fortunes of the NDC in his jurisdiction and ensure the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) records a decline in its voting pattern.

“I want to promise the Ho Central Constituency [NDC] and the entire country that the votes of the NDC are going to go up and the NPP’s votes will decline.
Even little children that you see in the corners are crying that Edem Kofi Kpotosu should be voted for and the masses have heard them and they have voted for me. It is going to reflect in the national elections”, he said.
He lauded the delegates for not allowing money to influence their voting decision and deciding to go for competence over money.
Mr Kpotosu assured of uniting the party ahead of the 2024 general elections to ensure a resounding victory for the NDC in the Ho Central Constituency.
He competed in the primary with Raphael Kobla Korda, Selorm Dey, Kasu Delali Kofi, Stanley Nelvis Glate, Emmanuel Kafui Dzamefe, and Dr. Robert Doh.
