The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has voted Delali Kwasi Brempong to represent it at the upcoming by-elections for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.
He polled 415 out of the 724 ballots cast.
His contenders, Selassie Agbo and Ekow Acquah managed 115 and 190 votes respectively, in the keenly contested polls.
The Ayawaso West Wuogon seat became vacant following the death of Emmanuel Agyarko in November 2018 in the United States, where he had gone to seek treatment for an ailment.

He had been Member of Parliament for the constituency for six years before his untimely death.
Former NDC MP for Ablekuma Central Theophilus Tetteh Chaie is confident the party will win back the Ayawaso West wagon seat from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP)
Mr Chaie says the party is poised to prove to the NPP, their government has failed the people.
“This election is taking place in the middle of Akufo-Addo’s term in office and looking at the current economic challenges, this is one election that we can use as a test case to test the pulse of the people…how they feel about this government.
“And I believe that they are going to use this by-election to tell the government how they feel…things are not good for the citizenry,” he said.
He is confident that the NDC will win the seat.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has set Thursday, January 10 to Saturday, January 12, 2019, to receive nominations for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency by-election.
Aspirants are also expected to pay a filing fee of ¢10,000.
A statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Chairperson of the Commission, Mrs Jean Mensa said, the nominations will be received at the Ayawaso District Office of the Commission between the hours of 9:00 am to 12 noon and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on each day.
