A bold new African novel, Svikiro Island, which explores power, heritage, and the mystical ties that bind the African continent, is set to make waves globally.
The novel is capturing attention across Africa’s literary circles for its deep exploration of identity through a captivating blend of myth and modernity.
Written by two emerging African authors — Francis Kojo Antwi, a Ghanaian and Elizabeth Taderera, a Zimbabwean — and credited under the pen name Two Voices, One Spirit, the novel tells a story that transcends borders and generations.

It follows Mawuko, a young Ghanaian driven by ambition and family legacy, and Mayarutsa, a Zimbabwean woman wrestling with a spiritual destiny she never asked for.
Their journeys converge on the mysterious Svikiro Island, a place that tests not only their beliefs but the essence of who they are.

Through lyrical storytelling and spiritual depth, Svikiro Island invites readers to reflect on Africa’s intertwined pasts and presents — where the quest for power often meets the pull of ancestry and where every choice echoes with unseen consequences.

More than a tale of adventure, this novel stands as a testament to the resurgence of Pan-African storytelling — a reminder that the continent’s voices, when united, have the power to reshape how its stories are told and remembered.

The book was launched recently in Accra with several personalities in attendance, including Her Excellency Myriam Montrat, High Commissioner of Canada to Ghana; Dr. Alexander Acquaye, who chaired the function; Gertrude Adzo Akpalu, Past Assistant Governor of Rotary District 9104; and Mama Koshi Atinoto I, queen mother of Ave Afiadenyinbga and mother of Kojo, one of the authors.
