The Inspector General of Police (IG), Mohammed Abubakar, has appeared in the new police camouflage to test-run the uniform as one of the force’s operational attires.
The IG, in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olusola Amore, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tuesday, said the new dress was in line with the transformation agenda of the Federal Government and the long desire of the police management team to reform the image of the force.
The camouflage is an admixture of black, white and ash colours. The advantages of the new police camouflage, according to Abubakar, included cost effectiveness to maintain; operational durability; high customisation with security features to forestall impersonation and environmental friendliness.
Abubakar called on the general public to come up with constructive criticisms.
