Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma Aboagye has revealed that about four out of 10 patients receiving health care in facilities are harmed in the process.
This mishap sometimes lead to either death or disability of the victims.
Dr Aboagye believes unsafe healthcare delivery can be curtailed if protocols outlined in the services' guidelines for effective healthcare is carefully adhered to.
He, therefore, urged managers of health facilities to provide the necessary logistics for health personnel while ensuring staff comply with the rules.
He was speaking at the 2020 National Patients Safety and Healthcare Quality conference in Accra.
Recently, there have been cases of some hospitals sued due to the negligence of their staff.
