Over the course of the past year Nike has been pledging its allegiance to its “Move To Zero” initiative.
Through this it aims to use 100 per cent renewable sources of energy across its owned-and-operated facilities by 2025.
Meanwhile, more than 99.9 per cent of Nike’s footwear manufacturing waste has been diverted from landfill and since 2010 Nike has diverted more than 7.5 billion plastic bottles, instead using them to make the trainers on your feet.
As a result, the Oregon-based super brand has released some of its most sustainable trainers to date, including the Space Hippie range.

Now, with the release of the latest ACG collection, Nike is pushing further forward.
ACG (All Conditions Gear) is a subsidiary division of Nike that produces innovative apparel, accessories and sneakers for all terrains, with Mother Nature in mind.
For the Holiday drop, which has been unveiled today, Nike has worked exceptionally hard to produce a collection that is undoubtedly one of its most sustainable to date.

The “Designed, Tested And Made On Planet Earth” collection, which is inspired by Oregon's Smith Rock (each ACG collection going forward will be based around one of nature's finest creations), is made up of heavy-duty jackets cut from waterproof Gore-Tex and thermal PrimaLoft, Dri-FIT and Therma-FIT shirts and sweatshirts, fleece trousers and zip-up jackets and all-terrain-ready shoes, including the Nike ACG Air Mountain Gore-Tex.
And, for the first time ever, 85 per cent of the line is made from 90 per cent recycled content, while all T-shirts are made from 100 per cent organic material.

And Nike Direct, the sportswear giant's division that focuses on online sales and product launches in physical retail locations, has taken inspiration from the ACG team.
For you, that means next time you go into a Nike store you'll be able to partake in upcycling workshops, where you can create new products from deadstock fabrics, led by the ACG team.
