Northern Regional Security Council is intervening in public rant made by Deputy Trade Minister threatening to expose a conspiracy among some NDC MPs in the region to unseat him.
Chairman of the Council and Northern Regional Minister fears the emotionally charged accusations could destabilise not only the party but also peace in the region.
The Nantong Member of Parliament (MP) Murtala Mohammed in an interview on Diamond FM in Tamale alleged an MP whose name he refused to mention is plotting with other MPs to unseat him.
In a no holds barred interview, the angry MP revealed that “someone [has] said to three people, Murtala has not incurred my wrath I simply don’t want him to succeed: I just don’t want him to succeed in life.”
“Are you God, who are you,”, he ranted.
The MP wants his allegations to be taken seriously because he intends to pursue the matter to its conclusion.
"If they think that this is just hot air, they are dreaming", he charged.
In a tirade the Deputy Minister described the actions by the MP as “pathetic, absolutely pathetic: is unethical, is so funny, is so stupid, is so silly, is nasty, is un-Islamic for people the same party to be sitting down and their intention is about how they can get someone out of Parliament.”
The effusions on radio was not enough for the deputy minister. He took to facebook sharing similar sentiments.

In his latest allegation, he says the MP is conniving with a woman to take nude pictures of a cabinet minister.
He has threatened to name and shame the MP involved.
The Northern Regional Security Council has expressed grave concerns about the rants by the Deputy Minister. Alhaji Limuna Mohammed Muniru says REGSEC will meet over the matter
The minister confirmed that two youth groups aligned to the feuding MPs have already clashed in Tamale.
He believes that the two MPs may be harbouring higher political ambitions hence the cold war.
