President of the African Paralympic Committee (AfPC) and the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana (NPC-Ghana), Samson Deen, has donated essential food items to support Paralympic federations and athletes during the holy month of Ramadan.
The donation, which took place on Thursday morning at the AfPC headquarters in Accra, saw representatives from five federations and several athletes from various sports gather to share in the moment of solidarity and generosity.
Deen provided a variety of consumables, including 100 bags of rice, 50 gallons of oil, 50 bags of sugar and salt, 50 tins of tomatoes, and other foodstuffs, to support the athletes as they remain focused and united throughout Ramadan.
“We are deeply grateful for this gesture, and we promise to continue making the country proud,” Bridget Nartey, a wheelchair tennis player said.
General Secretary of NPC-Ghana, Henry Larbi also addressed the athletes, emphasizing the importance of the initiative.
“We are starting in Accra, but we will soon extend the support to other regions, ensuring that more athletes across Ghana benefit from these opportunities."
Deen also encouraged the athletes to remain disciplined during Ramadan, highlighting the role of fasting in promoting both spiritual and physical strength, fostering unity among the Paralympic community.
