The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Parker Odarlai France, has been charged for assault.
Daniel Parker Odarlai France is also the party's election committee Chair for Ablekuma West Constituency.
Mr Odarlai France is said to have ordered a gang of eight men to assault one Amakye, who is contesting for the Vice Chairman position during a political event at Dansoman Liberty Park on Sunday, March 13.
According to the Police, the Accra Regional Police CID invited the suspect on Tuesday to assist with investigations. There, Mr Odailai France was formally charged with assault.
In the press release signed by the head of Public Affairs in Ashanti Region, DSP Juliana Obeng, the Police noted that Mr Odarlai has been released "on a Police enquiry Bail to appear before court today, Wednesday, March 15, 2022."

Reports reaching JoyNews reveal that petitions have be written about the conduct of Daniel Parker Odarlai France and the attacks on party members in Ablekuma West, however, no action has been taken by the party.
Meanwhile, the Police have assured the public that it is committed "to the protection of life and property at all times and also poised to promote law and order for a peaceful society."
