The opposition New Patriotic Party is questioning the planned commemoration of the upcoming 31st December revolution.
The ruling party is set to mark the day tomorrow with series of activities across the nation including a public lecture in Accra to be attended by founder Jerry Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu.
But the NPP says the celebration is a waste of public funds. Party General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie said public officers will be using state vehicles fuelled by the state to attend the celebrations.
Even more nauseating, he said, is the fact persons paid by the state will use the time they ought to have used to work for the state to go commemorate Mr Rawlings’ revolution.
But Pollster and Editor of the Daily dispatch newspaper Ben Ephson disagrees. He is of the opinion the celebration is useful.
