The 2025 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) will officially launch on Thursday, October 2, with the much-anticipated balloting exercise to determine school pairings for the competition.
The NSMQ, Ghana’s longest-running and most-watched academic competition, is expected to once again spark excitement across the country as Senior High Schools battle for supremacy in science and mathematics.
The preliminary stage of the National Championship race will run from October 13-17, followed by the one-eighth stage between October 19-21. Successful schools will then proceed to the quarterfinals from October 23-25, and the semi-finals on October 27.

The grand finale of the academic showdown will take place on Thursday, October 30, where the coveted trophy and bragging rights will be at stake.
The NSMQ continues to enjoy massive national attention, drawing in students, alumni, and education enthusiasts each year.
The 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz is produced by Primetime Limited and sponsored by the Ghana Education Service.
The quiz will be broadcast live on Joy News, Joy Prime, and Joy FM, with support from several sponsors, including NASCO, VitaMilk, Ayuda, Virtual Security Africa, Admissions Checker, German Ozone Medical Centre, Achimota Retail Centre, Ace Medical Insurance, Slamm Technologies, Family Health Medical School, and Chopbox Technologies.
