Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, has demanded an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the National Security Secretariat's alleged misuse of public funds.
His call follows explosive claims by Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former head of the National Signals Bureau, that millions of cedis were diverted to political campaigns and parliamentary committees.
In a social-media post on Wednesday, 7 May, Mr Ntim Fordjour described the revelations as “shocking, scary and a major National Security scandal!!!”

He cited figures including “GH¢8.3 million support for the NDC at the peak of the 2024 election campaign; 960,000 cedis for the Defence & Interior Committee in 2020/21 for passing legislation; 309,000 cedis for the Subsidiary Legislation Committee in 2024 for passing an L.I.; and 5.135 million cedis expended on President Mahama’s Special Aides in December 2024.”
The MP insisted that taxpayers deserve full transparency.
“The taxpayer deserves a thorough and transparently conducted probe into the above financial impropriety,” he wrote. “This must not be politics as usual.”
Rev. Ntim Fordjour urged the Inspector-General of Police, the Auditor-General and relevant parliamentary oversight bodies to launch a swift inquiry and hold those responsible to account.
He concluded, “Only a publicly credible investigation will restore confidence in our national security institutions.”
