The chiefs and opinion leaders at Kraboa-Coaltar have expressed concern about the closure of the only health centre in the community by the nurses who have left for the Easter holidays.
Kennedy Obubah, the Assembly member for Coaltar said that the people were surprised at the attitude of the nurses.
“We have given them decent accommodation in the town to enable them feel comfortable and we wonder why they took such a decision without the knowledge of the chiefs and the people”.
Mr Obubah said sick persons who went to the health centre came back disappointed and bought medicines from drug stores without prescriptions.
Some opinion leaders appealed to the health authorities in the district to bring back the nurses who were transferred from the health centre to other hospitals because they were dedicated to the work.
