Six individuals, including a toddler and the mother, have sustained various degrees of injuries in a shooting incident at Obuasi Kwabenakwa in the Ashanti Region.
The toddler, who was shot in the leg, remains in critical condition, while others have been treated and discharged.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect, Kofi Cole, fired shots in celebration of a court victory in a chieftaincy dispute.
Sources close to Luv News revealed that the suspect joined the victors in the dispute, who went around the community with rickshaws in celebration of their victory.
During the process, shots were fired into the air, leading to the injuries.
The Assemblyman for the Kwabenakwa Electoral Area, Charles Abu, explained in an interview that the suspect is known for notorious acts in the area.
"This is the first time I have heard about him firing shots, but he has often caused trouble in the area," he said.
According to the Assemblyman, the toddler remains hospitalised.
Gun culture continues to be a challenge for security personnel, with the Ashanti Region leading in recent statistics.
