The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given firm assurances that its presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026, will be conducted in a free, fair, transparent, credible, and peaceful manner.
The assurance followed a joint stakeholder meeting involving the party’s Presidential Elections Committee, the Ghana Police Service, and the Electoral Commission, as part of final preparations for the internal polls.
Representatives of the NPP’s national executives as well as agents of the various presidential aspirants were present at the meeting.

Discussions at the meeting centred on security arrangements and operational readiness to safeguard the integrity of the primaries and ensure a smooth voting process across the country.
The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, assured stakeholders of adequate security deployment, stressing that the police are committed to delivering an incident-free election.
Participants at the meeting expressed satisfaction with the conduct and work of the Presidential Elections Committee so far, describing the level of coordination among stakeholders as encouraging.
The collaborative approach, they noted, reflects a shared commitment to protecting the credibility of the party’s internal democratic processes.

The NPP’s National Organiser, Nana B, reaffirmed the party's resolve to uphold democratic values and deliver a transparent and credible contest that reflects the will of its delegates.
The party added that it remains focused on ensuring that the January 31 primaries strengthen party unity and public confidence as it prepares for the next phase of its electoral journey.
