One person is confirmed dead after a two-storey building collapsed at Techiman market in the Brong Ahafo region.
The incident is said to have happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to Joy News correspondent Anass Sabit, another person who was in the building when it collapsed is in a critical condition and has been hospitalised at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.

The deceased is said to be the security man looking after the construction site.
There are fears more people may have been trapped under the rubble but the reporter said the Assembly is yet to remove the debris to ascertain this.
Brong Ahafo Regional Minister Asomah Kyeremeh visited the scene earlier to see the extent of damage and has been meeting members of the Techiman Municipal Assembly on the matter.

"The structure itself was defective and the materials they used in the construction was equally shoddy. One can tell from hindsight that the cement was even inadequate and the iron rods were not standard, which led to the collapse of the building," Mr Kyeremeh said.
He said the structure was illegally constructed as no permit was granted prior to the construction.
"All such structures which were not approved or with any proper documentation an order will be sort from the High Court to be pulled down by the Assembly," he said.
He has ordered all contractors at the site to stop work with immediate effect.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Techiman, John Kofi Donyinah who also visited the scene condemned the act of shoddy works being done by some contractors in the region.
"We would not tolerate shoddy work from any contractor in the municipality as we will keep monitoring some contractors this time," he said.
The police have started investigations and have invited the owner as well as the contractor.
