The Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Ayew Afriyie, has underscored the need for Ghana to have genuine and faithful men of God who are committed to empowering and motivating the younger generation with hope, purpose, and direction through the Word of God.

Dr. Afriyie expressed concern over what he described as a growing wave of hopelessness among young people, fueled by negative narratives in society.

He made the remarks during the Kumasi edition of “Invasion 2026” organized by Prophet Benjamin Fordjour Ministries at the PENSA Auditorium, Ayeduase, in the Oforikrom Municipality.

The lawmaker revealed that some individuals have deliberately polluted the minds of the youth with the notion that there is no future for them in Ghana, a development he believes must be countered with sound biblical teaching and mentorship.

Held under the theme ‘FAITH’ and anchored on Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”, the event attracted hundreds of believers from Kumasi and surrounding communities, as youth constituted approximately 80% of the congregation.

It was a night when faith was stirred, lives were transformed, and destinies were awakened. Attendees experienced hours of intense worship, prophetic ministrations, and teachings centered on building faith in God amid current economic and social challenges.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Afriyie, who is also the Ranking Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, said the youth can only thrive if they are grounded in faith and equipped with inspiration to pursue their dreams.

“If we fill our young people with the Word and with hope, they will not give up. They will wake up, prepare themselves, and position themselves for a better future,” he stated.

He added that men of God have a critical responsibility to serve as agents of transformation by speaking life into the youth and guiding them away from despair, drug abuse, and social vices.

Dr. Afriyie commended Prophet Benjamin Fordjour and his ministry for their consistency in organizing programs that promote spiritual renewal and national transformation.

“I want to commend Prophet Benjamin Fordjour Ministries for this wonderful initiative. Programs like ‘Invasion’ remind our young people that God has not forgotten them and that their best days are ahead,” he said.

He further urged religious leaders, parents, and policymakers to collaborate in mentoring the youth, noting that a generation rooted in faith and discipline is key to Ghana’s development.

Prophet Benjamin Fordjour, host of the “Invasion” and Founder of Prophet Benjamin Fordjour Ministries, said the program was birthed out of a burden to see total transformation in the lives of people, particularly the younger generation.

According to him, “Invasion” was designed as more than a church program. It is a spiritual movement intended to ignite faith, restore hope, and reposition believers for impact in their families, schools, workplaces, and communities.

“The goal is simple: to bring people back to God. When God becomes the center of your life, no matter the economic hardship, no matter the social pressure, you will stand. That is the kind of transformation we are praying for,” he said.

Prophet Fordjour charged the youth to prioritize their relationship with God above trends and distractions. He urged them to make God the center of every decision and circumstance, stressing that divine direction is key to succeeding in life.

He also admonished them to stay away from indecent behavior, substance abuse, and other vices that he said were derailing the potential of many young people across the country.

Reflecting on the journey of “Invasion,” Prophet Fordjour noted that since its inception 16 years ago, the program has grown into a dynamic annual gathering known for intense worship, prophecy, deliverance, and teachings that inspire spiritual renewal.

“This is not just an event. For 16 years, God has used ‘Invasion’ to touch lives, heal the brokenhearted, and raise a generation that will serve Him with passion,” he added.

The highly anticipated revival gathering concluded with prayer sessions for the nation, the youth, and leaders, as many attendees testified to receiving direction and encouragement for their personal lives and careers.
