Over 30 investors, companies, entrepreneurs are to visit Ghana to discuss business opportunities from December 4 to 8.

Representatives of authorities from both countries will have the opportunity to discuss Belgium, Ghana partnerships, trade and investment.

Opportunities for both business to government and business to business meetings and matchings will take place during the period.

The mission will be carried out under the auspices of the Belgium Embassy working with Flanders Investment and Trade, Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX) and Hub Brussels, the official trade and economic partners of the Belgium Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

The Belgium trade delegation will comprise companies, business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals and experts from the Transport (infrastructure and service; harbours, airports, waterways, railway).

Others are from the ICT, Telecommunication, Agriculture, Construction (urban development; civil engineering), logistics, education, Finance, Pharmaceutical, Cosmeceuticals, Food Industry and healthcare, Energy (renewable/oil & gas) sector.

The rest are from manufacturing, Mining, Consulting, Water & Sanitation will be meeting selected local businesses as part of the activities for the Belgium- Ghana Economic & Trade mission 2021.

At the business conference on December 6 ad 7, the delegation will meet representatives of the Government of Ghana (GoG) and the private sector to understand the Ghanaian market, the challenges and the investment opportunities that exist in Ghana.

The Belgian companies are also available to meet local businesses in the sectors mentioned above. Businesses interested in meeting these foreign companies should register for free on Gite Trade Events before November 15. Confirmation emails will be sent once matching is established.

Ahead of the visit, Head of Delegation, Department of International Trade; Flemish government, Johan Malin, said, “Ghana’s private sector plays an instrumental role in national development and that cannot be overemphasized as it contributes significantly to Ghana’s industrialisation agenda.

Ghana which is home to the administrative headquarters of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), gateway to West Africa and largely Sub-Sahara Africa, has great value and opportunities to offer Belgian companies which we believe would lead to successful partnerships, further deepening the economic cooperation between Ghana and Belgium.”
