Parliament has extended sitting to 1700 hours during the week due to the slow pace at which debate on the Petroleum Revenue Management Bill (PRM) 2010 is moving. This is beyond the usual prescribed sitting period which is from 1000 hours to 1400 hours. Mr Cletus Apul Avoka, Majority Leader, made the announcement on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday. Though most members were present when the debate started, the chamber was left with very few members when it was about 1500 hours. Debate on the bill is not moving fast because of numerous amendments proposed in it and the fact that it had to be deferred to a later date. Though the Minority members demanded that the bill be sent back to the Attorney General's Office the Majority did not agree. Also laid were The Sports Regulations 2011, Report of the Committee on Lands and Forestry on the annual report of Forestry Commission for 2006 and Report of the Committee on Lands and Forestry on the Annual Report of the Office of the Administrators of Stool Lands for 2007 and 2008.
