The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, is set to officially launch the second edition of Parliament’s Democracy Cup on Thursday, 24th July 2025.
According to a press statement issued by the Director of the Public Affairs Department of Parliament, David Sebastian Damoah (Esq), the launch will also serve as the platform to announce the football clubs participating in this year’s edition.
The match itself is scheduled to take place in August, weeks after the official launch.

The Democracy Cup was introduced in 2024 as a parliamentary initiative aimed at promoting democratic values, national unity, and peaceful coexistence through sport.
The maiden edition saw the country's football giants, Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, face off, with Kotoko emerging as champions.
Mr Damoah hinted that this year’s match promises to be even more thrilling, with new activities lined up to make the event truly memorable.
