Former NPP Chairman for Klotey Korle who is now running for the party's Parliament slot in the constituency, Nii Noi Nortey has accused another aspirant Philip Addison of perpetuating falsehood, mischief, malice, propaganda and division in the party.
Philip Addison had earlier accused Nii Noi Nortey of stabbing him in the back because the latter promised to support his candidature and even introduced him at a funeral as the party's parliamentary candidate for 2016.
Addison alleged that he had meetings with Nii Noi Nortey and discussed his intentions with him as Chairman of the party in the constituency; so for Nii Noi to resign and contest him (Addison) was a betrayal of trust.

But Nii Noi Nortey, in a rebuttal, said Addison's allegation were unfounded, palpably false, malicious, mischievous and a fabrication which threatens to divide the party.
He denied every meeting with Addison to give him his support and also denied introducing Addison to anyone as the party's parliamentary candidate, saying that it is not within his remit to introduce any aspirant to anyone.
"I want to state categorically that the statement made by Mr. Addison, a legal practitioner of his stature who should know better is palpably false, malicious, and mischievous and a calculated attempt to tarnish my hard-won reputation as a loyal member of the New Patriotic Party and must be treated with the necessary contempt it deserves," he said in a statement.
Nii Noi Nortey is therefore challenging Philip Addison to provide evidence of a meeting the two of them had where he (Nortey) gave his support to him (Addison).
"It is clear that this propagandist approach of story-cooking has the tendency of causing unnecessary bickering and undermining the unity and harmony of the party," he said.
He assured his teeming followers of a clean campaign and subsequent victory for the party in 2016 if given the mandate to run on the party's ticket.
