So how bad can the city get? In this picture taken at Circle in Accra, a waterway gradually solidifies into a 'wasteway' as commuters, sellers, hawkers, and just about anybody with waste to dispose.
Sure, we can blame city authorites. They will deserve some flack. But after all is said and done, keeping the environment clean is something that ought to be natural to a people with any family training - not even basic education is required.
Yet time and time again, too many Ghanaians appear to have developed a genetic inclination to litter.
This ugly sight at best could be a potentially beautiful scenery in the hands of some other nation.
