Government has named the Ghana Cares initiative, also known as the "Obaatanpa" programme, as one of its measures to aid the recovery of the economy from the dire effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The GH¢100billion programme, involves the implementation of various projects in the health, agriculture, tourism, trade, digitization and technology as well as housing and social services sectors.
According to Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, the programme will rebound and grow the country’s economy up to 5%.
Tonight on PM Express Business Edition, host, George Wiafe interacted with Deputy Minister for Finance, John Kumah, to assess the many initiatives implemented by government to recover the economy.
The show discussed whether the initiatives are feasible and can thrive, despite the third wave of the pandemic.
