Police in Aburi have arrested two men for allegedly raping an expatriate woman at a local restaurant last Friday night.
The suspects were part of an eight-member gang which also robbed guests at the joint and made away with several items in the Eastern regional city.
Deputy Eastern Regional Police Commander, ACP James Azumah Abass, said the rape victim has been treated at the Mampong Hospital and referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for further medical check.
The Police Commander also asked management of hotels and restaurants in the town to tighten security to protect their guests, noting the lack of adequate security was the cause of Friday's incident.
ACP James Azumah Abass said the rest of the gang are being pursued.
