Police in the Central Region have begun investigations into how three small scale miners at Ayamfuri were trapped to death Saturday.
The three men were buried alive when a strike in a heap of soil triggered an avalanche.
The incident follows a long-drawn dispute between the miners and owners of some concessions in the area.
Central Regional correspondent Richard Kojo Nyarko reported that the miners had been warned to stay away from the mine site but paid no heed.
The Dunkwa Divisional Police Commander, Superintendent Otu Larbi said the bodies have been deposited at the Dunkwa government hospital.
