Mrs Joana Osei-Poku, Director-General in-charge of Human Resource Management of the Ghana Police Service, has said the Service as a law-abiding institution would not shield and protect unscrupulous personnel who would drag the service into disrepute.
She has therefore appealed to the public to help expose the bad nuts within the Service.
Mrs Osei-Poku was speaking at the passing-out of 198 police trainees in Kumasi at the weekend.
The recruits, who received a six-month training were taken through human rights law, criminal law, criminal investigation, sociology and weapon handling.
She asked the newly-recruited personnel to discharge their duties more effectively and efficient to ensure the maintenance of peace and order in the country.
The Director-General observed that the police would continue to clamp down on criminal activities and appealed to the public to give genuine information to help check such practices.
Benjamin Opoku, who was adjudged the overall best recruit and five others in various disciplines were presented with prizes.
