Ghana’s Under-20 female football team, Black Princesses, are poised to cruise to the next round of the 2016 Women’s World Cup qualifiers as they host Equatorial Guinea in the second leg match in Kumasi on Sunday.

Meeting for the second successive time in a similar qualifier, the Princesses know their guests will come into the game slated for the Baba Yara Stadium with a lot of fire, hopeful of avenging the loss they suffered in the last qualifier.

The Princesses come into Sunday’s second leg with a 1-0 win earned from the first leg in Malabo two weeks ago, and a draw in Sunday’s game will be good enough to see them through to the final round, although the Equatorial Guineans have given the strongest indication that they are coming to Ghana to cause ‘havoc.’

Their Spanish head coach, Miguel Angel Pozanco, has turned to the men’s senior team coach, Esteban Becker, for help as he plots to upset Ghana on home soil.

And with most of their players boasting European experience in Portugal and Brazil, the Equatorial Guineans are no doubt a good side and could pose trouble for the Princesses if they take them for granted.

Indeed, while the Princesses beat Senegal 8-0 on aggregate to advance to this second round, their guests for Sunday accounted for Mali 4-0

Aware of this potential threat, Princesses coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, says his charges are on guard and are fired up for the game on Sunday, guided by what happened in the first leg.

“In the first leg, we played a compact game because we did not want to exert too much energy. The Equato Guineans are no doubt a good side and have a lot of energy and pace, but our game plan on Sunday will be completely different as we intend to win and win good,” Coach Dramani told The Mirror Sports.

For the Malabo game, he rested most of his key players, but most of those players are likely to be on duty with starting roles.
