Former Rector of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, Professor Jacob Plange-Rhule has been laid to rest.
The renowned Physician was buried at the Gethsemane Memorial Gardens after a private funeral service on Saturday.
The 62-year-old died at the University of Ghana Medical Centre last month where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
Prof Plange-Rhule was born on July 27, 1957, in Winneba, Central Region, and had his secondary education at the Accra Academy before entering the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) from the School of Medical Sciences at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 1984.
Prof Plange-Rhule then completed a doctorate in renal physiology from the former Victoria University of Manchester (now known as the University of Manchester).
In addition to serving as Rector of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons from 2015 to 2020, Plange-Rhule was the former President of both the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) from 2001 to 2003 and the Ghana Kidney Association from 2014 t 2017.
