It has now been established that six policemen including a senior officer were involved in the attack on medical personnel at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital last week.
Earlier reports had indicated five people carried out the raid which disrupted emergency services at the hospital.
The Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau is set to submit a report on its investigation into the incident to the Inspector General of Police.
The officers under investigation are Lance Corporals Kennedy Yeboah and James Addi, Detective Corporal Kennedy Owusu, Corporals James Nnavlor and Samuel Adu, as well as DSP Adjei Nimoh.
With the exception of DSP Nimoh who is on interdiction for his role in the attack he is said to have led, all the men are at post.
They attacked health personnel and assaulted a security officer at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in an attempt to arrest a security man accused of shielding a colleague who allegedly attacked DSP Nimoh.
The security officer, Eric Kankam, was injured in the brawl that ensued and later thrown into police cells without opportunity to seek medical attention.
He was later given excused duty to seek treatment for a swollen eye he received during the attack on him.
Northern Sector Director of PIPS, Chief Superintendent Asumadu Okyere Darko, will not give any details except to say his office has completed its work and the report was due for submission within the week.
Many witnesses including the KATH Security officer, doctors, nurses and other hospital officials as well as the accused policemen were all interviewed by the investigative body.
