The Ghana Bar Association is urging all members across the country to request adjournments in court cases not requiring immediate resolution as coronavirus cases in Ghana increases.
"Where a matter is pending in court, even if part-heard, Counsel may agree on a date and inform the Registrar of the relevant court accordingly by correspondence. Lawyers may opt to take long adjournments within the term" a statement issued by the National President, Anthony Forson Jnr said.
The latest advice which follows some social distancing directive issued by President Akufo-Addo on March 15 as part of measures to stem the spread of the COVID-19 in Ghana, has become necessary in an effort to decongest the Courts and observe the prescribed protocol.
