Richie Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of Lynx Entertainment record label, has refuted claims that the careers of his artistes take a nosedive when they leave the company.
In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Richie attributed the perceived 'Lnxy curse' to the challenges of artistes encounter plying their trade independently.
"Music business is hard. When an artiste leaves that setup and they are on their own, it is difficult. They are not cursed, it is difficult," he clarified.
He emphasized that the success of Lynx Group is a result of the collective effort of about 60 employees, who work tirelessly on various aspects of an artist's project.
"We have a team that's sitting there working on creatives, a team working on PR, a team working on your visuals. When you leave and you don't have the power to employ as many people, then the work, the input is dropped drastically, so the output is also dropped," he further noted.
Richie also cautioned against measuring success solely by numbers. He said sometimes successes of musicians' enterprises should be measured by how much they put into the word and the profit margins.
Lynx Entertainment has worked with musicians such as Eazzy, OJ Blaq, MzVee, Asem, Ziggi, Kuami Eugene, St. Lennon, Kasar, and Maya Blu.
Currently the label has KiDi, DJ Vyrusky and DSL are its artistes.
