Road Safety Management Services Limited (RSMSL) has urged motorists to be cautious on the roads following Wednesday’s tragic Kotoko team bus accident.

In a statement on released on Thursday, Marketing Communications Manager of RSMSL, the Roland Walker, assured the public of its commitment to complement efforts of the National Road Safety Commission, and other state agencies to improve road safety activities.

“The issue of the effect of broken down and abandoned vehicles on the road and its attendant consequences on human lives is real. However, in the absence of adequate measures to remove such dangers, caution on the road needs to be exercised by all and sundry to ensure lives are protected when plying all roads in Ghana,” the statement said.

One person died when the team bus of Kumasi Asante Kotoko ran into a truck at Nkawkaw en route to Kumasi, the Ashanti Region capital.

Road Safety Management Services Limited (RSMSL) wishes the management and playing body of Kumasi Asante Kotoko speedy recovery and extends its sympathy following the loss of life and injuries to some members of the team who were returning to Kumasi after honouring the Ghana Premier League match against Inter Allies in Accra.

According to monitored reports, the incident involved the team bus of Kumasi Asante Kotoko running in to a stationary truck. Whilst this is a road safety issue, RSMSL wishes to appeal to the motoring public to be more vigilant on the road especially on all major highways across the country.
