Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Sadiq dazzled once again, imprinting his mark on AZ Alkmaar’s path to the Europa Conference League group stages with a brilliant brace in a commanding 4-1 triumph over Levski Sofia.
Sadiq broke the deadlock with a close range header in the 3rd minute—setting the tone early and sending the home crowd into raptures.
Barely three minutes later, Mexx Meerdink doubled the lead to put AZ firmly in control before halftime.
As the half came to a close, Sadiq was on the scoresheet again, converting in first-half stoppage time to wrap up a devastating opening salvo for AZ.
Levski Sofia briefly responded after the break, with Everton Bala netting in the 46th minute to inject a hint of suspense. But AZ reserved the final flourish for substitute Lequincio Zeefuik, who sealed the emphatic 4-1 win with a late strike in the 86th minute.
With that victory, AZ comfortably secured their spot in the group phase, progressing 6-1 on aggregate.
It was a performance charged with flair, efficiency, and purpose—and it was Sadiq’s brilliance that lit the way.
