As part of efforts to develop talent in the Ghanaian music industry, Scratch Studios and Entertainment, Ghana’s most prestigious recording studio and record label, has announced that it will soon organize a hunt to help the youth pursue their musical ambitions. The objective of the talent hunt is to create possibilities for a new crop of gifted singers, instrumentalists, and composers among others, who can go beyond already established musical boundaries in the country.Scratch Studios, which has a state-of-the-art recording studio with facilities that meet international standards, will in the future be responsible for producing, managing, packaging, marketing and promoting the selected artistes. The establishment, situated next to The Guest hotel in East Legon, is gradually becoming the meeting place for Ghanaian superstars; from musicians to filmmakers, sound engineers and music business tycoons. The Studio has put in place experts to train singers, instrumentalists, sound engineers, and equip industry practitioners with vital knowledge about music and copyright issues through the organization of seminars and workshops.Beatwaves learnt that Scratch Studios will soon set up an award scheme called the Scratch Awards to honour artistes who are “up to scratch”, artistes committed to professionalism and excellence, and those who have made it to the top.The Chief Executive Officer of Scratch Studios, Kofi Amoakohene, who is eager to help develop the music industry, told Beatwaves that his outfit is ready to contribute towards the changing trend of Ghanaian music by providing top quality services including recording facilities for audio and video productions, rehearsal rooms, instruments and a 400-sitter venue for live performances.Source: Daily Guide
