Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has written to Italian club Inter Milan informing them of his desire to leave the club with immediate effect.
Inter Milan technical director Marco Branca made the revelation on Saturday, alerting English clubs of the availability of the Ghanaian player.
This comes just three days after Muntari had a furious bust-up with coach Leonardo after he was substituted.
Speaking to Sky TV ahead of the champions’ clash with Bologna at the San Siro, Branca admitted that the out of favour 26-year-old is angling for a move away from Milan.
“He has made himself available to leave as long as a team wants him and is interested in him,” said Branca.
“He’s a lad who is close to us, he’s a good person even though sometimes he expresses opinions typical of someone who wants to play.”
Having been a near automatic first choice under Jose Mourinho in his first season at Inter, Muntari lost his place in the team last season and has featured even less this term.
He’s made just 12 appearances in all competitions, mostly as a substitute.
