Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known on TikTok as Ekow Black, has appeared before the Adabraka Magistrate Court over an alleged case of domestic assault.
The 25-year-old unemployed man has been charged with assault, contrary to Section 84 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
According to the particulars of the offence, Ekow Black is accused of assaulting Rachel Oduro without her consent, with the intent to cause harm and pain. The prosecution alleges that he subjected the complainant to a severe beating on November 30, 2026, within the Accra Magisterial District.
The case attracted widespread public attention after a video of the alleged incident went viral on social media, although the accused has argued that the incident occurred several months earlier.
In addition to the assault charge, Ekow Black is also facing further charges, including threats to share intimate images and sextortion.
The court granted the accused bail in the sum of GH¢30,000 with sureties. He is expected to reappear before the court on February 10, 2026.
