The Hohoe Magistrate Court was thrown into laughter when a suspect stripped naked, held his erected penis and signalled a lady in the courtroom to walk forward in order to assist him quench his "wild sexual desire."
This action drew crowds from adjoining offices and the Hohoe lorry park rushing to the court. When calm was restored Mr Stanislaus Amanoipo, the presiding judge, instructed the prosecution to send the suspect, Bright Future Odiadie, to hospital for examination as he displayed tendencies of epilepsy at a previous appearance.
Odiadie and Mawuli Bokortsey are charged with stealing. They pleaded not guilty and re-appear on February 14.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Benjamin Dadzie told the court that Odiadie and Bokortsey allegedly stole four rams from a nine-year-old boy tendering the animals on November 26 last year.
He said the accused sold the rams to a kebab seller on November 28 but he informed the owner of the animals.
Mr Dadzie said Odiadie told the kebab seller to expect more rams on November 30 and with this information soldiers on guard duty at the Hohoe branch of the Bank of Ghana were informed and they arrested the accused with three rams in their possession.
He said someone also identified two out of the three rams as his animals from his pen at Kpando.
The prosecution said the suspects denied their involvement in the crime even though the nine-year-old-boy identified them who stole the rams as he run to inform his father.
Mr Dadzie said Odiadie failed to lead Police to the source of supply as he stated he bought the rams from Abotoase.
