Ligue 1 side AS Monaco are readying a surprise move for Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor according to the London Evening Standard.
The 30 year old looks likely to leave White Hart Lane having seen his first team chances limited of late and chances of that departure occurring in January have increased significantly in recent weeks.
Adebayor spent some time away from the club for ‘personal reasons’ but has now returned but is unlikely to feature heavily in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.
Having netted just two goals in 11 Premier League fixtures it seems Spurs are even keener to offload the former Arsenal man, not least because of his sky-high wages.
A move back to AS Monaco would no doubt tempt Adebayor and could help revive his career and could see the Togo international line-up against Arsenal in the Champions League early next year.
Adebayor spent three years at AS Monaco before moving to the Arsenal in 2006, netting 26 goals in 115 appearances for the principality outfit.
